Group / Classroom Use

How can multiple children use Scribble on the same tablet?

Each student can have a unique Author Name within the Author Management Feature, and – when logged in – will only see his or her own books.  The currently logged in author is displayed in the upper left corner of the Title Screen.  Tap the author name to enter the Author Names screen and change, edit or delete authors.  Students can also have an avatar graphic or their photo associated with their Author Name.

How can I present students’ books to the class / group?

The easiest way to present students’ work to the whole class is to first export books to your email address, and then run the presentation from your computer.  Note that to ensure child safety, Scribble does not allow kids under the age of 18 to export books outside the app.  To access this feature,  tap “Parents” from the Title Screen and follow the prompts.  Once inside the Parents area, tap on a book to export it to your email address.

How can I send students’ books to parents?

How can I move books between authors?

When an iPad is being shared by multiple kids or students, sometimes a book might get created under the wrong author name.  You can move a book to the right author by tapping it in “My Books” and then tap “Move to another author.”

How can I get more involved with Scribble?

We are always looking for educators for our informal advisory group, to write blog posts, to create content that we can offer to other teachers, and to provide input about making our products and services better. Please get in touch with us at educators@scribblepress.com and let us know how you would like to be involved.

All of your books are in your “My Books” library, which is accessible from the bottom of the Title Screen.  Here you will see your most recently edited books, and an “All Books” button that shows the full list.

I erased my tablet data and reloaded Scribble – where are my books?

Unfortunately, if you erased your data your books are no longer in your library.  If you backed up your device, you can often recover your books by restoring the backup.

How can I import drawings or pages I have already created?

Anything saved in your Photo library on your tablet can be added to a page in your book by tapping the camera icon in the tool area.  You can also add a photo “as a background” by tapping the backgrounds icon in the tool area, then tapping categories, and then photos.

What’s the page limit?

Scribble currently limits books to 15 pages. There is a lot of content in Scribble, and this limit helps ensure that the app performs well on current devices.

Who owns the copyright on my story?

You own all the parts you create – Scribble owns the Story Starters and the artwork that we provide you to use as illustrations.

How can I delete a book?

Tap  on the book cover from the Title screen or “My Books” and tap “delete” – but be careful since the book cannot be recovered once deleted.

Why can’t I download Scribble on my smartphone?

We may create a phone version in the future, but right now Scribble is a tablet-only experience.  We think it works best on a larger screen!
